Occupations in demand list for Brisbane and Perth?
Do Queensland and Western Australia have an ocupations in demand list. Also if they do and you are lucky enough to be on it am I right in thinking that a job offer then gives you 5 points ?

No. The regional schemes do apply to QLD and WA (away from the capital cities) but up to now these two states have been less active than SA or Victoria. The vast majority going to these states under these schemes are either sponsored by regional employers or are business skill migrants. I would think your best chance of getting a nomination for QLD or WA would be if you were willing to live somewhere remote (like the Pilbara or Kimberley regions of WA) and there was an employer in those areas who couldn't fill a job. >Also if they do and you are lucky enough to be on it am I right in thinking that a >job offer then gives you 5 points ? Regional schemes generally avoid the points test entirely. A job offer from a regional employer generally means that you get sponsored for a regional Employer Nominated visa via the RSMS (no need for a separate application). Jeremy |
