NZQA What needs to be assessed?
Do all UK qualifications need to be assessed by NZQA. I have a BA(hons) and A Levels. Is it likly that these qualifications will be disregarded if not assessed by NZQA or are they undestood and acceptable without assessment?:lecture:

Search the forum and type in NZQA and it will give you all the posting relating to NZQA. Most of the people I can gather had there qualifications assessed.

Re: NZQA What needs to be assessed?
I guess it also depends on what you want to use them for...
For example, my husbands PGCE (teaching qualification) was on the list, so we didn't need it to be assessed for our PR application. However, we have heard that a local school had problems with a UK teachers pay because her quals hadn't been assessed by the NZQA (despite her having PR, and teachers registration!)
Obviously this may just be a one off case (for the benefit of all teachers hoping to work in NZ soon!) We don't know as hubby hasn't got a teaching job.... yet...
Nicola.

If the wording of your qualification is not the same has what is on the list or the NZQA website you may also need to get them assessed. We only found out when we took our application down to Nz house in July when we handed the app in. It all came down to the wording of the qual and it did'nt say levels 1 and 2.

We had husbands qualifications assessed, its fairly straight forward to do just costs you more but it covers every avenue. We got cert back stating how many points given for qualification and it was all really quick no problems at all.
