We are applying for work visa's and our application forms were posted secure first class post on 27th May. We have received a leter from NZIS stating that we shall have to wait about 10 weeks for our Visa's because we didn't state an arrival date in NZ!!

We thought that we had to give an exact arrival date, so, because our house had just sold the day before-we wern't sure exactly when we would be arriving!!-with me so far?

We have since sent a letter explaining that we need our visa's by mid-July-but haven't heard a thing-we haven't even got a case officer yet(which NZIS said aprox two weeks wait, about three weeks ago!!)

Is this normal? we keep ringing them, but at £1 per minute it's not cheap to call, plus when we have called they really haven't been very helpful at all!

Please can anyone advise?

We had to wait six weeks to get a case officer for our work visa.

On the confirmation letter you got, there should be a number for someone I think is called Stuart - he is very helpful and understanding. Don't call the helpline, it is extremely badly named.

We have now heard and we should get our visa around 12th July!! (according to visa officer)
