NZ PR accepted in principle
 

We got notification of the above (Gen Skills) through NZIS London.

Timeline: Dec 1 2001 lodged application minus NZQA assessment for qualifications (partner)
Jan 30 2002 submitted NZQA assessment for partner (NZQA assessment took about 10 weeks).
Feb 20 received 'subject to' acceptance in principle. (Subject to fees and transfer of settlement funds).
Whole process took about 85 days. (My commiserations to Australia applicants who are having to wait so long.)

We used an agency, I won't reveal their name. They were perfectly professional but costly, ie GBP1600. We had not discovered this site when we contracted to them. We would not recommend using an agency for straightforward NZ applications. However, we certainly got good answers from our agency to many of our queries and they held our hands, so to speak. I don't ultimately begrudge them their fee, it's a choice we made and we happen to be of the nervous disposition.

NZIS London seem very professional and willing to help PR candidates pass the legislative hurdles, they are not looking to refuse candidates who meet the points requirement.

We were only required to transfer NZD100000 rather than the NZD200000 we offered as we exceeded the points passmark by 1 point.
