Thumbs down NZ Passmark to rise to 30 on 7th Oct

For those who don't know yet (apologies to those who did!), I've just read today in the New Zealand Herald that the immigration pass mark is going to rise to 30 on 7th October 2002. This is designed to slow down to influx of immigrants under the General Skills category.

So, those of you who are nearly ready to lodge your applications, get a move on guys!

We succesfully applied last August, and scraped in on about 25 points. To get in now, it would appear that you need:

a) A large pot of settlement funds (we didn't have this!)

and

b) A confirmed job offer (we didn't have that either!)

Good luck to those ready to lodge their applications!

Ken (now in Auckland and loving it)
