Funny to see how 2 countries are taking such opposite views at the moment
What do others think? Will NZ follow suit or is the Canadian drop in points for Skilled workers just a temporary measure?

I find it strange that NZ give us a feeling that they are desperate for skilled and professional people yet they don't make it easy to migrate across even though your English. Now to make it more difficult you need a job offer before going on the general skills catagory.

Re: NZ make it harder yet Canada make it easier
Hi all
US has lobbied Canada to restrict immigration and minimise inflow of from Indonesia, Arab states, Pakistan etc.
Canada agreed but had backlog from pent up cases and fallout from their own court case when agents won and the Govt DIDN'T legislate around it, so they had to get a few extras in the system before their own numbers dry up a bit.
Usual lack of supply and demand management skills at Government level, same as NZ.
