Question NZ Long Term Business Visa - Business Experience ??

Hi - anyone out there have LTBV approval for New Zealand without having run your own business ?? If so, what level of business experience do you have, and how recent is it ?

I have retail management experience (although from about 5 years back as I have had 3 children in the interim) and want to buy a retail outlet in Northland. I'm not sure if this type of application will get approval considering I haven't run my own business, evan though I will be investing in an area that needs it.

Any help appreciated

Donna

Hi Donna,

I'm afraid it's unlikely that NZIS would approve a LTBV application without experience of running your own business although they might accept your management experience if it's at a senior level. I was able to get a LTBV based on running a one-man limited company as a framework for IT contracting and managing a team at a global corporate.

Can I suggest you post a message asking the same question on the LTBV & NZ Business Forum? You're more likely to get appropriate advice there.

Good luck,
Ben
