Is there anyone that can advise me on basis living costs in nz i.e gas/electric phone t.v etc
there seems to be people out there that can advise on oz but not nz
can anyone help

Hi there,

I recently posted tv info on a tv & shaving thread. We haven't been in our house long so as for elec/ phone as soon as I get my 1st bill I will be able to tell you more. As for gas it depends on where you are, mains gas is available on a few new developments but most houses use LPG cylinders (we do) which costs $96 for 12 mths rental of bottles and $60.50 for the gas in each bottle. I have no idea yet how long a bottle lasts. Having been used to mains gas I thought bottles would be a bit of hassle but the supplier does everything all you have to do is keep an eye on your bottles and ring them when you need a delivery (they connect)
