NZ Engineering jobs
 

I'm off to NZ (from the UK) in 2 weeks time to look for work in Materials Engineering/Metallurgy, but am not having much luck finding anything on the 'net so far.

Does anyone have any experiences of looking for engineering jobs in NZ to relate, or know of any useful sources of information I might not have thought of?

Any help much appreciated.

www.nzjobs.co.nz would be a good shout for
jobs. Not much in the way of industry over here. Could possibly get an academic job,
and there may be stuff in relation to the oil/gas industry over Taranaki way ( there
are a number of rigs, so there may be structural testing work). Another contact might
be Fisher and Paykel. As well as being the biggest white goods manufacturers in NZ
they also have a medical division, which makes various respiratory and heat
equipment. They have a research centre in Auckland.

Thanks. Would hate to think I'd jacked in a (reasonably) well-paid job for nothing!

Anyone know any company names in the gas/oil drilling industries, or the mining industry in NZ, come to that?

Thanks Lizzie. Unfortunately their website seems to be down at the moment, but I'll try again.

Does anyone know the names of the companies which operate New Zealand's power stations?
