NVQ HELP in AGED CARE !!!!!
 

I am wondering if anyone has come across this dilemma and can point in the right way to what i need to do.

I moved over from UK in November 2016.

I have NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Health & Social Care. I also have a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's Services

Now i have been working for 3 months in an aged care facility on my current certs to have been told yesterday i can not go back into work until i have had these NVQ certified to Australian equivalent.

My problem now is that i contacted NSW Gov Trade Recognition and they have said due to the nature of the Job it is not on the trades list.

Where do i go from here? I have worked for over 20 years in aged care in the UK and don't want to waste my experience and NVQ's if i need to start from scratch doing the Cert iv here.

Anyone else had a similar problem and know where the best place is to go from here

There is specific information for NSW residents because NSW does not have an Overseas Qualification Unit (OQU) for non-trade quals see: https://internationaleducation.gov.a...dividuals.aspx

They will assess your NVQs against the Australian Qualifications Framework. Contact them first to see if it's necessary - your work place may be mistaken.
