Default Nut allergies in Australia

We are in the process of applying for Australia. My wife has a severe nut allergy and we were wondering if anybody knows if the food packaging is labelled to account for this allergy. Would anybody see this being a problem for us?

From what I've seen, they are fairly up on it, you should be ok.

It's not something I specifically go looking for but I've certainly seen signs on fresh food (deli counter, etc) so I'd be surprised if it's not on pre-packed stuff too.

Hi ya
my son has a Peanut allergy, & all food i purchase have warnings on. Unfortunately it seems to be on most foods, but i think this is just to cover themselves, more than anything. As for resturants/deli/bakers etc, if you ask them & explain to them regarding what your allergy is, they are more than helpful.
Let me know if i can help any further.
Paula

Almost everything in a packet has " may have been processed in a machine which has been in contact with nuts written on it" more of a legal protection thing than specific warning. But all packet foods also carry an ingredient list, I cant eat wheat but have managed to find heaps of cheap alternatives by eating unprocessed food, at least you know what your getting that way.
