Nursing visa fasttracked?
MY wife kids and myself have decided to emigrate to OZ,
I have enougth points for the skilled independant visa but read that nurses are fasttracked.
My wife is a registered nurse and social worker but has no experiance in nursing as she choose to follow the social work path.
So my question is how much faster is the visa and skills assesment with nursing rather than a trade skill and how much experiance is nessercery.
Thanks for any answers Nick

i do believe and quote me if i am wrong that you need to have had 12 out of the last 18 months experience to be processed as a nurse
you have to be assessed by the australian nursing council and have references from your current employer to do this

yup 100% correct - you need 12 out of last 18 exp.
there is also no explicit fast tracking. It just happens that occupations on MODL tend to get done quicker

Hiya Rich
I was told that nurses are the only ones on the MODL that are
fast tracked
Lots of nurses front load because of this
I agree about the experience

Yeah, 12 months exp out of 18. Nurses were being fast tracked when I applied about Dec/Jan 2002 - ANC took about 5 weeks to check my documents & DIMIA subsequently took 4 weeks.
