Hello London Nurse,

I've contacted the pensions office to ask about advice on this. They said that we can freeze or transfer, as a general rule they told me it wasnt really worth freezing anything less than 15 years as it would be pretty worthless. They are going to write to me with further details so I'll let you know when I receive that.

Just read Diane's post

I have looked into it on a fairly basic level and I came to the same conclusion as Michaela. Unless you have donkeys years of pension behind you it isn't worth keeping here. I've got 10 years worth of NHS pension and my husband has 5 and I had already decided to transfer it before I spoke to someone at the NHS pensions place.
Once we have a superannuation fund set up in Oz we just have to get them to contact the NHS lot who will then organise transferring it out.

Hope this has been useful
