Nursery
We have a two and a half year old who attends a private nursery here. What would the equivalent be in Sydney? And can anyone recommend one around Bellevue Hill?
Many thanks!!!

Re: Nursery
There are loads of options for day care here:
Occasional care - which is like a "drop-in" thing
Family day care = childminder
Long day care = day-nursery.
I don't know where Bellevue Hill is but if you know which council it comes under, look at their website. For example, for my area it's North Sydney so the website is www.northsydney.nsw.gov.au and on there there is a link to "children's services" which will list out all the different kinds of daycare available.
HTH a bit

Re: Nursery
For regular sessional and full time care you would basically be after a private child care program of some description - formal preschool education wont start until they are 4 or about to turn 4 and even then in NSW free places are scarce and most kids, if they attend preschool at all will go to privately run ones which they have to pay for.
Family day care is cheaper because it is like a regulated baby sitting service in the carer's home. If you are lucky you can pop them into occasional care - often in big shopping centres so you can go and do your shopping without an ankle biter bothering you all the time.
