NSW public dental service
I'm quite possibly the last person to know about this but NSW offers free dental care for all children under 18, provided they are eligible for Medicare.

I've no idea how it works, really, as I've only just learned about it all. I just called my local area health service (Northern Sydney Central Coast Health - http://www.nscchealth.nsw.gov.au/ser...dentalmain.htm) and have requested appointments for my two monsters. Apparently, I should get a booking within a couple of months. No idea if the quality of the service is any good or anything, but I've not had any cause for complaint with Medicare, so I'm happy to try and avoid private healthcare if I can.
Anyway, just thought I'd share in case anyone else is as in the dark as I was.

I'm in Melbourne and also only heard of the service recently. Wish I'd done it sooner. Appointments were made within a matter of minutes and they will both be seen by the beginning of June.

There's a new Dentist that has opened near to us that is offering fully funded Medicare treatment. If you want the address, I'll dig it out for you.
