Talking Now I know why we are leaving the UK!!

Currently watching what passes for entertainment - the Eurovision song contest!!!!! (Sad i know!)

As i type the UK have yet to score a single point - and Turkey are winning!!!

We can't win anything to do with sport and we can't even win a song contest!! :scared:

No, actually i stand corrected - we're good at ...... rowing!!! Hmmmm......

The idiot Blair will see the fact that Europe hates UK as a reason to be in it. At least they will get PB as a consolation prize.

I fear that the UK is coming close to being as hated by the international community as the US is. It seems that Blair can't see what everybody else can - that he is Bush's puppet. If we are not careful then the UK will be left behind by the rest of Europe as well as becoming a permanent terrorist target.

Eurovision is a joke competition but that vote is scary. Or was the song just really really shite ?

That's the basis of my point. You don't pick and choose your friends on the basis of whether they are currently going through a bad patch or not. The UK Euro debate is centred on self interest. Germany has a massive price to pay for reunification. Other EU countries are currently in one of the 'dips' of the economic cycle. In comparison the UK is doing relatively well in economic terms. But you can't say we'll be part of Europe when it's doing well but not if it's going through a bad patch which seems to be the basis of the current Euro debate.

Now my personal view is that the US is shit scared of a powerful Europe. I hate to think what George has promised Tony in order to keep him onside. We all know what Australia gets out of being part of George's gang but it's probably a lot more complex with the US-UK.
