Hi Guys

Congrats to Nick & Andrew and Jody & Mark at last you have got it. fantastic.

Well we have been here just over a week now and are pretty much sorted. Its so easy over here we havent encountered any problems at all.

Day 1 Arrived 9.30 Sat am go to our apartment around 11.30, bought a car by 3pm. we are now the proud owners of our very first 'ute' Toyota Hilux dual cab, 3.5 litre V6 4x4. Its a monster compared to my old clio!

Day 2 Looked at 7 homes - loved the first one we looked at but decided we should look some more.

Day 3 Authenticated bank accounts and got a mortgage agreed, looked at around 8 more homes. Rented an office to work from.

Day 4 Set up a company with an accountant, applied for Tax file numbers, registered for medicare, got new driving licences. (NB: In Queensland ID for driving licence is passport, visa stamp and credit card - but credit card must have full name on not just initials)

Day 5 Looked at 2 more homes and went back to the first one we saw and we bought it!!!! settlement date is 02.05.07 cant wait to move in.

Day 6 Met up with Al & Pam for lunch they have arrived on their reccy and we have seen them a few times since.

Five days and sorted is it a record?

We have been working this week life is pretty normal, very laid back no stress and its sunny every day what more could we want.

Kizbut if you want to meet up over here send us a PM sorry we missed meeting you before we left we didnt get the message.

Hi Guys,

that was pretty speedy, we took a week from landing to having a car and rental house and furniture. Within 2 weeks a had a job on a terms contract. Since then we have moved house, changed jobs and bought an investment property to rent

Wow guys and I think I am organised - I am hoping to put my feet up for a couple of days - well as they say in your country(!) Good on yer and have a glass of the amber necter for me.

Good to know its as great as we think out there - we sold the house twice (couldv'e been 4 times each viewer wanted to put in an offer!) but the process takes so long we could knit a jumper!

Good to hear from you too Bubbles got your own horse stables yet ?

hiya,do you already have your visa,or waiting for it ? most of us are in your position, either about to put our house on the market or waiting for a sale,so we're all in same boat,so to speak.
