Default North or south perth?

After finally getting through the process we are off to Perth in september. Still unsure which area and would just like any general comments from people already there. Which parts are nice have decent schools etc.. thre seems to be lots of nice comments on Rockingham just wondered on other parts too.

North of the river and as close to the beach as you can afford.

Schools? Depends if your looking for public or private and how old the kids are.

Depends on your budget and the size of house you are looking for !

We're in Kensington (renting) and its a great area, with very easy access to the CBD plus all parts of greater Perth. (3 highways within 5 mins drive and other 3 within 10 mins drive). PLus really good facilities wrt restaurants, pubs, shops (groceries, electrical, furniture) But its expensive to buy. 3 bedroom house will cost at least A$350-400K. We dont have kids so cant comment on the schools directly, but my neighbour tells me the schools are good. The only thing you dont have here is beaches, but according to the locals, its not a great idea to live by the beach cos its so windy, better to be inland just a bit.

You're going to get really subjective answers here. You will really need to come and have a good look round for yourselves. Talking to someone the other day who's been here 30 years & she was saying you tend to find people who start off in the south tend to stay there and ditto the north, not many cross the river so bussie is an exception!

Hi

Will not be subjective.............!! so....

I agree, go and have a look see what takes your fancy and what suits your circumstances.

we live in ocean reef, wich is north and we love it ....its lovely here, and the beach is just down the road,we got a short term rental to start with so we could look around,i fault was renting here short term....cos now we ve been here no where else in perth seems to compare..........So we r now staying put!!!!!!!When we buy (6 months we will buy land up here and build)as it will be cheaper 4 us.This is just my opinion and others may dissagree,we have yet to fully exsplore perth,so for the time being we intend to stick
natasha
Ps....the down side 4 us is avin to get a train into the city 4 a nite out as it wud be 2 exspensive to get a taxi... And all the main restaurants etc r there,we do have them up here, but the citys always best 4 a nite out
