Other than that Brisbane isn't what I'd call near the coast, it's an hour away in either direction. Also, if you give us some idea of what you consider affordable we will be able to help you more.

Re: North Brisbane suburbs - advice please!
Sorry I wasn't a little clearer with my initial question.
I would like to be within an hour commute by train to the CBD, so I'm talking rush hour times. When I said affordable I was looking initially at the rental market with a budget up to 350$ per week. We've got no kids so 2/3 beds maximum but would like a nice area with good amenities etc.... Generally just looking for some of your opinions so that I have somewhere to start from...thanks guys.

This map will show you the towns north of Brissy that are on the train line, to get more affordable suburbs you will need to be north of Carseldine. the further north you go, the closer to the beach, most of the places from Beerwah north are about 20-30mins from a beach. It takes just under the hour to travel from Caboolture sttion to Roma St, Brisbane.

You can easily rent somewhere for less than $350 pw in the Caboolture/Morayfield/Burpenrary/Narangba area.
Hope this helps. Please say if you have any more questions.

Hi,
Are Carseldine, Fitzgibbon & Aspley considered good suburbs? Could you tell more about them?
Thanks

I would say Aspley & Carseldine are considered good, established suburbs and Fitzgibbon not as good. Anyone who lives there may well disagree - that's just the way I hear it

Would you know how long it takes to drive from Carseldine to City?

I've never done it, but would hazard a guess that it would be 45-60mins in the rush hour. Normally it would only take 40mins. There is a train from Carseldine to city which takes 40mins.

Train is a better option, even if it means driving to a station and parking there, you are more likely to arrive when you expect to arrive, rather than being stuck in the traffic for an unknown length of time.

Are the majority office jobs in Brisbane concentrated in CBD? What other parts of Brisbane have large concentration of office jobs (accounting for example)?

However, you can drive 10 mins into Caboolture and jump on the train , straight into Brisbane !
Its tipped as becoming the next property hot spot.
Houses are still relatively cheap, but its on the change !
