Think yourself lucky - you couldn't get a garden shed in Sydney for any of those prices!

You have gardens in Sydney?

Have to admit that the lower house prices was one of the reasons we chose SA.

That is very true, all my colleagues love to pick me up on the like. We do have a garden and not a yard

Yes, we stopped having a yard when we moved out of our Coronation Street 2up/2down 12 years ago!

To refer to Elizabeth, Munno Para and Smithfield as Adelaide suburbs is stretching the imagination a bit! Elizabeth was created as a separate city in the 50's as somewhere to put the £10 Poms - it's just urban sprawl that has (almost) joined it to Adelaide's outer suburbs.

Munno Para is 33km north of Adelaide CBD - that might not seem much to a Sydneysider but in South Australian terms it is a long way away.

Of the 10 affordable towns listed in SA the largest is probably about 3000 inhabitants and at least 150km from any major shopping or cultural centre. The reason the houses are so cheap is that supply far outweighs demand!

The Adelaide "suburbs" listed probably have the highest percentage of residents receiving CentreLink payments.

Sorry but not all South Australian's live in the city or 'burbs! My kids do 100 km a day to school and back so 33 kms isn't a long way.

I'm sure ABC can confirm with you're right about Centrelink payments but I suspect you might not be. People often chose more industrial areas because of work don't they?
