No visa ... just an E- number ?

Received confirmation that our 457 visa had been finalised and were issued with a number, via e-mail, to give to passport control when we land in Melbourne?

We were at least expecting a stamp in the passport.

Anyone know what process occurs when we give the number, how long does it take etc, etc. Expected difficulties or anything we should be aware of ?

Appreciate advice fom anyone who been there/done it.

I am not sure with 457s but with the new eWHV no label is placed in the passport prior to arrival. On arrival at Sydney the traveller goes to a special DIMIA desk to get the label.

Elsewhere the traveller goes to the local DIMIA office (after arrival) to get the label.
