NNEB Recognition in AU
 

G'day Blokes & Sheilas,
Could anyone tell me if the NNEB (Child Care) certificate is recognised in Australia? In England this is equivalent to the NVQ 3. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks Ben.

i don't think it is. my SIL had that and she had to re-train. also, my sister is NNEB (who is going over to aus), and she says that it is not recongnised.

correct me if i am wrong anybody :(

Funny enough I was discussing this with another expat a few weeks ago, it's not recognised over here, (I believe its equivalent to a level 3 or 4 here) but if you can prove what kind of things that you learnt / had to do to get the qualification you have a good chance. So I guess the question is did you save any of your course work / projects? I did mine over 10 years ago and only kept a small amount of stuff and the certificate so I don't know how i'd go! I guess they'd have to shove me in a room full of kids and make me prove what I can do! :p

Problem with pre-93 nneb. Solution is to get a letter from CACHE, Richard CEO, that says it is equivalent to Level 3.

Post-93, the qual is accepted.

According to the QLD childcare dept they accept all NNEB.
As you see from the Britvics forum Victoria are more sticky about when the NNEB was aquirred, if its before '93 you need the show certificates from update courses. good luck :)
