nice, quiet suburbs.
close to the beach
with good schools

or tell us where not to go! in your opinion

Lots of lovely places. Lets start with jobs, what do you/partner do for a job. Do you plan to drive, train to work etc. This is probably the most important thing. No point giving you good suburbs in the North if you are going to work in the South and you don't drive. You get my drift.

Do you have any idea of how big Western Australia is? Are you looking to live in Perth metro, Mandurah, Albany, Geraldton, Broome, Kalgoorlie? As you can see, there are lots of options. Also, as NB and S&B said, where will you be working and how much.

Sorry fairly new!!!!

We have not got a job as yet! So would like to settle first rent a place and then look for work
I am willing to travel to work can drive so no probs there, rather be close to school for the oh to be able to get to if needed quick.
will need a primary and secondary school.

We would be looking at bringing out one hundred thousand pounds and then getting a morgage once we have settled and working .

This is a major factor to consider, you dont want to rent in an area, get the kids settled in school..............then discover its out of your price range!

Would definitely steer clear of Kinross!

As a lot of people use the beaches here, you are not going to find a quiet suburb near the beach as that's a bit of a contradiction in terms. Having said that, the way people build in Australia, everybody is never too far away from the beach.

Money is your biggest factor. you are not going to get very much with as little as 100K, even with a mortgage, as the suburbs nearer the beach are alot more expensive. If your looking at the northern suburbs, I suggest you look at Yanchep or Two Rocks. A little bit further out, therefore a little bit cheaper.

It doesn't matter what you do for work at all, you'll still have to travel no matter where you are.

As the other replies have indicated there are lots of personal factors to consider

Most people tend to spend a lot of time looking around before they settle as it's obviously too important to get wrong.

Your question has also been asked many many times before so it would be worth looking back at the other relevant threads and replies

That said check out the area around Churchlands and Wembley Downs there are some of the best schools,easy access to both the city and beaches by car or public transport. A very wide range of property types and prices and also good access to local shops as well as Floreat Forum which has modern shops along with the pub and several restaurants.

You really need to tie in your suburb research with where you're going to work. Perth metro is very spread out its a very long thin area, I heard someone say its about 100 miles from top to bottom (Two Rocks to Mandurah) thats about the distance from London to Leicester.

I would say Secret Harbour is the furthest you want to live SOR if your working in Perth central. If you are working NOR then forget Secret Harbour unless you want a couple of hours commute

EDIT: for housing you wont get anything under $300 per week (renting) and you will need a fair size mortgage on top of your £100k for buying in Secret Harbour
