Nice areas NOR please?

Hi All.
If we ever sell the house we plan to make our move to Oz soon after (hopefully this year!). We had fallen in love with a place called Southern River when we visited last Oct but my OH has now decided he wants more land & is considering NOR if the land prices are lower than SOR.
He is wanting about 2000sqm if possible. Can anyone suggest any nice areas's that have good schools (state if possible) Primary & High that we can look into please?
Thanks for any info

If you want that size block NOR then you will have to go as far as Two Rocks Seatrees estate or perhaps Carramar near the golf course where there are a few 2.5 to 5 acre blocks. Prices are well over $1 million for a property at Carramar and as far as I know there are no vacant blocks for sale. All other suburbs NOR have much smaller blocks and many 1000sqm properties have been subdivided.

Theres definately one block for sale in carramar on Tranquil drive could be 2 if memory serves me right.

Just returned last week and saw them while visiting someone its not a vacant block though they come with houses but as already said you are looking at over a million dollars.

You can get 10 acres for well under $400,000 ................. we actually bought 9.6 acres in November for under $300,000.

It is a little bit out in the bush at the moment and maybe somewhat off the beaten track today.............. but it won't always be that way.

When we first moved to Wanneroo 20 years ago............... Wanneroo was quite often referred to as south Geraldton as it was too far up the bush.......... look at it now.

It takes us about 25 minutes to get from our Carramar block up to Chittering so it's not all that far.

Johnno,

We're looking at moving from Iluka to Chittering. What are prices doing there at the moment? going up? stagnant? down slightly?

Chittering is pretty much the same as the rest of the market in general over here in the West................. not much movement at all. Accordingly prices are pretty much hovering around what they were this time last year in the established sector.

For an established house on a 5 acre block in Chittering you would be looking at somewhere between $650K to $750K. Similar houses around the Bullsbrook area are apt to bring in round the $1.0M plus mark.

New development bush blocks in Chittering can be had for around $250K .....ish for 5 acres or thereabouts; 7 to 10 acres for around the $280k to $340K mark.

I went to a Rural Chapter Seminar at the Vines a few months back and apparently Chittering and Bullsbrook areas will be up and coming in the years to come. At the moment both are deemed to be still somewhat out in the sticks.............. but i don't think it will be all that long before the isolation becomes less and less?

We took a gamble so I hope my intuition pays off; if not it's a pleasant enough lifestyle change.
