Re: Which are nice areas to live on Gold Coast???
Hi
just doing lots of research.
Anyone living on the GC, could you point me in direction of nice suburbs there please. Have been looking at Pacific Pines but not alot of good comments about there!!!
We are family of 5. I have 3 girls aged 14, 12 and 3. Looking for schools, colleges, somewhere near beaches etc.
Any info would be great

Hi - as said by others there is no substitue for driving around suburbs and seeing for yourself. Maybe getting a rental for 6 months before committing to an area you might not like in the long run.
One thing to bear in mind which has not been mentioned - if you have 2 teenage or close kids who will be wanting to get out and about and you dont want to spend your life as a taxi driver check out the public transport options in your desired area - public transport on the GC IMO is pants!

He might have his own agenda of course but the president of the Qld Police Union has an alternative view:
Gold Coast 'the crime capital of Australia'
"The Gold Coast has cemented itself as the crime capital of Australia," he said.
"We are starting to see organised crime spill out on to the streets and it is a very real risk where innocent people could be killed or hurt."

All adds impetus to his campaign for more numbers when serious events occur?

Well Steve, i can tell you now that samantha has paid into the government fund to the tune of $233 on the exact stretch of road you're talking about!! She should know better as it's always in the same spot!

Tweed Heads, Banora point, Terranora, Billambil Heights, Piggabeen, Cobaki Lakes, Fingal, Duranbah, Cudgen.
Ok, maybe Tweed is the only one classed as the gold coast but the rest are all walking distance to Tweed or within a 5 minute drive
Worth thinking about if you are not limited to the top end for work n stuff.
Cheapest beach side living on the Goldy, airport on your door step and the Byron hinterland as your back yard all with the bonus of not having to call yourself a Queenslander

Yeah, i kinda agree with that - except maybe bilambil??
If you work on the coast broadbeach and below is the go imo, however if you work in brissie just that bit too far to drive everyday.
I have a friend who lives in tweed and it takes him 40 mins to get to work at Southport, put another hour plus on top of that to get to brissie?? Nooo thanks
To the OP, it is beautiful and lesss developed down the bottom end of the coast, however, be aware there is not much in the way of work from what i can see - however, if you can get the work it is the spot to be in, again, imo

Bilambil heights was the spot we had our eyes on the most back in the UK when looking at rentals on realestate.com.au every night, not sure but i thought it was a decent area? apart from the traffic into Tweed been a nightmare at certain times of day. I know it has the most amazing views back towards the coast and Tweed river.
If you get work in this area you are laughing the Kingscliff to Byron stretch of coast is like another world compared to the Goldcoast.
