Sounds ok I spose ....
I put the heating on for about an hour this morning, it was down to 10.4 °C at 7am. It was dropping from 13.9 °C at midnight until 7am when it began to pick up again. The high point today was 20.7 °C at 1.40pm.

However, last nights lowest on the Gold Coast was 6.1°C At about 6am though

Cheers for that ABC, altho I prefer the 'it won't drop below 10C' version ...

Why don't you go after the 15th August - (I know you won't be able to go exactly then because of your son's trip).

After the 15th many airlines' prices come down - you save at least £100 per ticket (the timing affects us too - so I've done some reserach!).

Wouldn't want you wasting £3-£400 for the sake of a few weeks.

I hope to take loads of pic's so will no doubt post them upon return.

Now we just gotta try and sort out the 'right' time to go ?!

Weather being such a big reason, end of July/ Beg of August has to be fav (middle of Winter I guess!) as that's when we want to REALLY see it. We all know it will be nice in the summer, but HOW cold will it get in the Winter on The Gold Coast ?!? .... I've heard/read conflicting reports, but gotta be better than Winter here!

I feel another bashing coming for slating the UK ...lol

I just have to do a little juggling with dates as my mum is having a 60th party early July, and my boy is going away with the army cadets on the 16th of July for 10 days, maybe when he returns.

We'll see!
Hi Paul

Mum says she is freezing today! LOL its dropped to 21 degrees on the GC!

Cheapest flights we've found go on the 10th August with Malaysian

Well adrenalin I think is stopping me from sleeping ...lol, so I am back to the PC.

Well if flights are gonna be a LOT lower in Aug then I guess we'll have to take this into consideration. I'm gonna have a lil look around now, well untill I fall asleep in the chair! ...lol

I was looking at prices a few months ago and when I Googled 'Australia Package Deal' I recall finding some VERY reasonable deals. I must admit I didn't check them out thoroughly, but on the surface they DID look decent!

I'll see what's about tho.

Oh and Claire, 21 is terrible! ...... just terrible! ...

Dates don't coincide with the Brissie meet but so far I've seen this:

20th July - 10th August

2 adults, 2 kids, 3 weeks at the Sea World Nara resort - £1,180 each inc all taxes and stuff!

Sounds good to me, but maybe its a dive! ...lol

So far don't see any flight prices under £650 and most are in the £800 - £900 each ....

I'm off to work and will be back later,

Any views on the price anyone?

Thanks

That part on its own would cost you from about $3,500 for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Hi ABC, yeah I was looking at rooms for the hotel and I can't recall the exact daily figure, but it certainly seemed to be a lot!

flights are via Dubai with hardly a stop over, but that's fine.

My partner is sayin "quick, book it before it goes!" ...lol, but It seems to good ?!?!

Also this is for 21 days, but with time in the air it's only 19 nights in the hotel. An extra day is something like £18 ea so I'm wondering if we should go for the extra 2 days overall giving us a full 3 weeks there ....... altho also wondering am I getting greedy! ..lol

I can go back from leaving on the 20th to the 16th and it still comes up, but go before the 16th and no show!

I have to admit I'm itching! ...lol

Hotel looks nice on the web, any idea personally?

Jim the gold coast is absolutely jammed full of apartments, why not take a 2 bed holiday apartment, with the big benefit of being able to buy normally priced groceries and cook them. 4 people staying in a hotel and eating out every meal would cost a bloody fortune. Also why book the 3 weeks first? you might hate the gold coast, and want to move on to other places, august is off season and accom will be easy to get.

Hi, yeah good points, but it's just the whole package taking into account that flights seem VERY high on their own seems so good! I plan to be out and about a lot of the time checking out the college and stuff, so it would be handy somewhere decent for the rest to hang out so to put it.

As to not liking the GC, well we're gonna study in either Brissie or TGC, we GOTTA like it! ...lol

I appreciate NONE of us will know if we do or don't till we get there and spend a bit of time, but I just keep hearing good things about the place, well apart from TGC being VERY commercialised, but expect that, we wouldn't be living right on it, but a nearby sub I guess.

I spoke to 2 Aussies tonight. One from Melbourne, but spent 6 yrs on TGC, and the other lived in Brissie for 20 yrs. BOTH spoke very highly of TGC AND Brissie. Also BOTH said with the heat out there tonight, it made them think of home
