Where are you coming from? Most of us travel in by train from north or south, so can meet you en route if you like.
We generally meet about 7-7.30 at Gilhooleys in the city, its on the corner of Charlotte Street and Albert Street, 10 minutes walk from Central Station, taxis outside
Either post your location or pm it to me, and we will see who else is coming from your way.......

Then today I saw you have made a decision - I assume this is for all the family? it must make life easier when the indecisions is taken away and you have a goal once again. Congrats on making the decision - I know it must have been hard for you all.

Thanks Michaela!!!! That's 2 offers I've had.. You guys are so nice! I haven't read all of the thread you wrote about going back to the uk...I only knew it was there after pollyana made a reference to it. It must have been a really hard decision to make... As you say you have a fair bit of time before you go...I hope to get to know you and all the other brissy gals well and share a lemonade or ten

I hope to get a landline set up next week...so will pm you and polly with it when I know what it will be....plus I should have an oz mobile soon...if I can wade through all the various 'plans' etc and suss out which is best!!

Auctions are advertised in the business section of the Courier Mail on a Saturday, you can buy almost anything at these. Computers stuff can be really out of date so you need to have a fair idea what you are buying. Office equipment is really easy to come by. Household and electrical stuff always seems good.

Grays, Isle Love and Baileys

are the biggest, others are more specialised.

The Trading Post it's online and the paper is published on a Wednesday, second hand and new stuff.

PHD is a rental company which also fits out show houses; they sell off stuff that is slightly worn - many a bargain to be found.

Logan Road, Stones corner, sells surplus goods from the clothes shops. Table Eight, Sussan, Colarado etc.

I've bought stuff from all of these. The trading post is the only one that can be a bit of a hassle, phoning round and trying to get in touch with people. All the rest were really easy.

All MY boxes are now empty....some after two years en route!The house is full of The Blokes gear still packed though.

he has now retired to bed with flu muttering that I am not allowed to have a Girlie Night here (so it looks like Gilhooleys is still the place). He will pay for this decision, as the flu means I have a cancelled date and I am stuck in front of my pc tonight with a whole bottle of red wine.........and as some of you will know - that bad news for my brain........bring on those chipmunks

I can't make it on the 7th May coz we're away for the weekend in Tangalooma (probably not right spelling!) on Moreton Island, but any other weekend is ok for me.

Polly - how's your new house - are you settled in yet??? Michelle brought all the piccies from the last nite out and when you moved. Great piccies!!!!

Michelle - you left the piccies - so I'll bring them on Thursday.

28th is fine for me too. May I ask how long does the night last usually? Just as If I need to get my hubby to pick me up - he'll have the kids too and he'll be comming from Gold Coast. Anyone got a rough direction or area to head for? If we go up pacific highway what exit is closest? Or does anyone know if a train is an option? How late do they run and do they go Brissie to G.C? Thanks in advance.

Wanderlust can probably help with directions/exits - she used to live down that way. The trains run to Robina, I think, that would be the closest to the Gold Coast.

As for how late we go on - how long is a piece of string! We usually meet about 7.30 and you can stay as long as you like - think the latest was Michaela and I on the very first night, when they swept us out of the door at 3am......
