newcomer requests advice

Hi, i am a newcomer to this site and would love some advice from anyone who can give me any information or even point me in the right direction. I'm very interested in migrating from the uk to australia but there's a catch. I suffer from the disease cystic fibrosis and have heard it is very difficult if not impossible to get into australia if you have any kind of medical condition. I am currently in very good health although this is a serious condition (considered life-threatening). How seriousally will this affect my chances? Im a 20year student at UCL in London studying immunology. I would normally hope therefore to apply on the grounds of employment. Also, are there any other grounds on which to apply bearing in mind i don't currently know any oz women dying to marry me!!! Any help much appreciated, cheers.....dave.

Hi Dave,

'Fraid I can't answer your question fully but maybe some of the profesdsionals on this board (George, Alan, JAJ) can give you some detailed advice.

All I can add right now is that the medicals are looking for two things
1. Are you contagious
2. Will you be expensive to support on the state medicare system.
So I wouldn't say "it is very difficult if not impossible to get into australia if you have ANY kind of medical condition"

Have you contacted the AHC in London to ask them for some guidance?
