Newbie wanting advice - Visa's and general advice

hi all,

I am about to move to Australia as my comany has asked me to relocate to
head office for an undefined period (anywhere from 3 to 24 months)

During this time i will be travelling to other countries to complete project
work.

I have been asked by my employer to try to gain the visa myself although
they can sponsor me if required. What would be the advantages/ disadvantages
of doing it myself or telling them to sponsor me. I have seen that there is
an ETA visa Long term business that will allow me to enter multiple times
but only stay for 3 months at a time. Does anyone know how long i have to
be away for.

Would it be easier to get a temporary residency visa?

Facts:

Age: 26
Sex: Male
Occupation: IT Systems Engineer (For an Australian company)
Nationality: Full UK Citizen
Status : Single
Income: 50-60,000 AUD $
Financial Situation: In Credit - Very little savings.
Medical Health : Epileptic but fully controlled.

I am not sure what the required information for the points system is and i
am sure there is more info required to calculate how many points i will have
here.

After paying my uk standing orders and mortgage payment i will have circa
1900 aus $ to live off, will this provide me with enough money to flatshare,
live and enjoy myself in Sydey australia?

Questions:

My epilepsy drugs - how will i get them over there - am i in the equivalent
of the NHS there?
Is it worth getting a car, would love to get a v8 (young, single - time to
do it!) are there cheap ones?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated... please respond

Regards

James

Hi there,

Lots of questions. Have you tried looking on www.immi.gov.au ?

Give it a go and then ask the things you couldn't find out.

I have looked on this site, from what i understand from the information there i could use either process to get a valid visa, however, i am looking for personal experience answers that could give me the advantages or disadvantages of either approach.

Hi there,

Can't help you there, We applied under skilled independent and did this ourselves. Our case was pretty straightforward mind you. Hope you find what you want.
