Posted this on NZ forum as we are looking at both countries.

Myself and the missus have had enough of the UK and are looking to move to NZ/OZ

Where do you start ????

We are both 40 (IT Manager (degree educated B.Sc) and Travel manager) and have a 1 year old.

We will have about £60-70k and yes we will sell the house.

No family ties and in need of a life change

Any pointers would be very welcome.

Is it easier to move to NZ/OZ and then get a job ???

Hi both,
We are both 41 and my oh is a computer consultant. We have 1 child too.

I suggest you check out this - the points list. You need at least 100 points to get a visa!

If you get 100+ then check out the conditions of the relevant visas - you are looking at the General Skilled Migration visas.

Can't be much help to you cos I am an Aussie and my wife is coming on a spouse visa, but I'm sure some of the folks on here will be able to help you.

hi mike and ali,
just wanted to say hi and that we are from plymouth. now in Perth. :)

If you have a look on the meet ups page (plymouth meet) you will see a few members live quite close to you and have meet ups now and again, they are a good way to find things out.
