Newbie Just Saying Hello
Hi
We're planning to emigrate to Aus (Perth) early next year so I thought I'd join this group and introduce myself. I'm an IT geek and my partner is an oncology nurse. We've no kids and both have PR visas that we activated in Jan this year.
We're not expecting a better standard of living over in Aus. In fact we know we will be worse off financially. We're going for the experience, good or bad. If it's not for us then we'll just come back. We've found many useful posts on this forum and we'll be looking to put something back in to the group once we've built up some experience. For now I'll keep lurking and gathering information.
Many Thanks

An open mind is a good attitude, be a sponge, not a rock.

Financially on paper we are worse off but actually when you are here and earning less - we are no worse off at all - we can actually afford for one of us to stay at home with toddler - couldn't do that in England, we pay all the bills ok, we eat out when we want, we buy what we want, our lifestlye is 10 times better, we drink, we socialise, we hit the beach and parks.
I guess lifes what you make it !!
Good Luck
