Default newbie intro

Hi everyone

Mrs Dumpling here, just thought that after dipping our toes in the water so to speak we had better get around to introducing ourselves properly before posting any further on this fab site. So here goes:

We are a family of 4 currently living in Devon. Hubby is a painter and decorator and the TRA has gone off this month so hope to hear early next month We put the house on the market thinking it would take a while to sell and it sold within a week! Cash buyer as well - omg :scared: All in all took 4 weeks from start to finish with a family holiday right bang in the middle - not recommended! Came back to find there had been a postal strike so we hadn't exchanged after all. Completed and exchanged over two days so packed rather quickly. Luckily we found a fully furnished rental so we moved into that and all our stuff has gone into storage.

Hope to be going on SIR visa to Adelaide or Queensland, but can't make up our minds yet

Linda

Hi Linda

Welcome to the site. Lots of very friendly people here.

Good luck with your TRA. I think they come back quite quickly now we waited nearly 12 weeks for ours.

We are also going out on an SIR and plan to settle in Perth.

Hi Linda

Yeah was a real killer waiting and as we failed the first time we had to go through the wait all over again.

Hubby is a business machine mechanic, dont think your hubby would have a problem in his trade wherever you decide to go.

We did look at going to Victoria first but as we have a cousin in perth we felt it would be easier for us to settle in the early days, if we dont find work then we will look to move areas.
I know with the SIR you are limited to areas in Perth but the South West is definetly going through developement so hopefully we will find the work.

I think the house prices are not too bad in the South West yet but going to have to get over there soon.

We have just had Meds done and sent of PCC, on that last leg now.

Hi Clippies

Thanks for your welcome

We're either mad, bad or sad We kept reading about folks who got their visa's but couldn't sell the house - it would drive me loopy for sure.

So we thought sod it lets go for it! We're hoping to sell off most of our stuff before we go as well and just take the mini dumplings, toys, tools, sentimental stuff and clothes.

What about you?

Yes we're doing the same, just going to take clothes and that really - to be honest most our furniture was given us anyway and certainly wouldn't withstand the trip to Oz
