New Year's Eve In Brisbane
Hi All
We arrive in Brisbane on 29.12.05, and want to do something nice for new year's eve. We were thinking of going to Southbank for the fireworks, but have been told that it gets very busy and as we will be 6 adults ( 1 pregnant ) 1 kid 2 1/2, 1 kid 4 and 1 kid 9 months didn't think it would be ideal.
We were thinking along the lines of a night picnic somewhere along the Brissie river (where you can see fireworks ), any idea's ??
Or if anyone can suggest something else !!
By the way we be living in Bayside
Thanks

With kids of that age you can do the early fireworks, and miss the later ones, or get a hotel room for the night, and watch the later ones from the room. We did that in 2003/04

New Farm Park??? Great park and great atmosphere during the day, would imagine it would be a great place to have a late evening picnic, nice play area for the children and good bar and dining with the Watt Bar, never been there late at night but would imagine that it is still going to be a good place to go.

Hi
It does get busy, but it's great. We went up there when we were on holiday from the UK for the whole day, by the afternoon it was looking really busy so we went into the Indian Restaurant there and booked in for that night. I can't remember how much it was, but I don't think it was bad. The Indian food is different here, but because it was a buffet, the kid took what they liked. The 9.00 fireworks where great, we went home before the 12 ones as we had jet lag. This year I think we might go again or maybe Wet 'n' Wild as someone said that's also very good and they have great fireworks and a dive in movie, no drink though.
