New of used car?
Looking at sites in Brisbane second-hand cars seem to be quite expensive. Any views please about buying new or used cars.

Depreciation rates in Oz are much lower overall than in the UK. Compare the 3-year retained value figures in "Wheels" to those from one of the UK auto mags.

Second hand cars really hold their value. Personally if you can afford it I'd buy new- that's what I've just done and I never bought new in the UK- always 8 to 10 month old cars. IMO if you can't buy new then I'd go really old- there is absolutely no value in 2 to 5 year old cars here.
