Default New member - Where do I start?

New member - Where do I start? I am planning to move to australia around june 2008 as this would coincide with my son's finishing his exams at school and allows me to be up to date with my electrician's qualifications. Q. which visa? employer sponsored or self sponsored?. We have relations living near Perth but we could afford a better house in South Australia.
Any advice would be most welcome

Advice get a move on and skilled visa! (depending on your age).
What is a better house? What budget? Are loads of real estate websites you can look at! Really depends on how much you have, what you expect and how where you want to live, Australia is a BIG place!

You need to start with a skills assessment. Here's the website http://www.workplace.gov.au/workplac...oAustralia.htm

Be aware that you will also need to apply for an ARTC certificate and a licence when you get here to be able to work as an electrician, so make sure you get at least three certified copies of references, qualifications etc.
