New house purchase in Oz, query
We are awaiting our visa and are currently in Sydney looking at houses etc on a tourist visa. As we have not got a residency visa we can only buy a 'new' property at the moment, my query is can I ship my furniture over before we get our visa? Will the customs allow it in? At the moment the stuff is in store in the UK and the shippers want sight of the visa before shipping it. I appreciate that I will need FIRB approval before purchase but I am concerned as to whether we are allowed to ship our stuff over without a residency visa.

You had a temporary Residence Visa which gave you permission to reside for a fixed period.This is different from my Visitors Visa and gives differing allowances/permissions I presume?
