Hi Suz

Sorry - no info on Kalamunda either. Just thought I'd say hi though as we're also in West Sussex (Ashington, 10 miles from Horsham/Worthing).

My husband has also just come back from a flying visit to Perth (he went in May for 8 days!!) to look into business opportunities out there - or thats what he tells me anyway!!

Hi
Have just opened the Perth UBD , Kalamunda is east of the international airport , heading inland , looks like it backs onto gooseberry hill and the Kalamunda national park , so looks like you have countryside. Havent personally been as far as i know .Have you tried plugging in the name on the web to see what comes up ? On one or two of the housing sites you can put in a area and it will tell you all the statistics of that place.
Sorry havent been much help we are north of perth

Hi Suz,

Welcome!

We spent a day looking for property in Kalamunda in January so we only have a limited idea of what's it's like. If you don't find someone better aquainted with the area drop me a PM and I'll happily send you a personal view.

Kalamunda's sleepy as it's a drive from the city. Good value housing and larger than average sized blocks; lots of established Poms there. The homes mainly come with pools as it's so far from the beach. Hotter in the summer, cooler in the winter than the city. People who settle there tend to move only within that suburb so they oviously like the lifestyle.

Hi to everyone in the Sussex area. We also are quite new to the Forum aswell.
We've been really a spectator to everything that goes on here.
We got our visa's a month or two ago. Have only known about this forum for a short time. We have found alot of useful info here.
In the past we have relied on our Migration consultant and the Australian news. We've been fortunate enough to have our story printed in this months issue ( June ) of the Australian News.
Really looking forward to arriving in Perth Aug 03.
Look forward to talking to anyone going around the same time.
Thanks for reading

Dave & Mandie.

Hi Sam,
Steve went out for roughly 2 weeks and fell in love with the place,he also went to Adelaide as he has family there but it just did not have the wow factor! so it looks like Perth here we come, just about to place the bond for the extra 5 points. we must keep in touch as it seems we will be going about the same time as you, do you have any kids? By the way I have a good customer in Storrington so I know the area well.

Hi joanne and Paul,
We did not want to be beachside, am not really a tree hugger! but we just like the sound of Kalamunda having looked on a few sights etc, north or south of the river that the question and as I think most of steve's work bases appear to be south of the river the advice given to us was base yr home the same side ish?? we wont really know untill we get there, thanks anyway.
