New Australian Passport Rules - 1 July 2005
New rules for Australian passports come into effect on 1 July:

There is no impact on the rules for Australian *citizenship*.

An extract from the link above:
"The Act will encourage Australians to protect their passports at home and abroad. It will do this by introducing an additional fee to replace a lost or stolen passport. The more passports you lose or have stolen, the higher the fee. Where three or more passports have been lost or stolen in five years the validity of the replacement passport will be restricted to five years."
It must be fun coming up with rules like this.

Seems like the Bali 9 (who have been travelling on false passports) have caused a stir.
