It never rains but it pours
I just arrived back from working in Singapore for 2 weeks, and during that time, it hadnt stopped absolutely bucketing it down.
I got off the plane yesterday at Brisbane, and what happens? this morning our garden is flooded, and the swimming pool is overflowing.
Normally, this is a welcome state of affairs, but while I was away, a kangaroo had somehow jumped into the swimming pool, and drowned itself. In the process it kicked the hell out of the plastic liner, so the pool was leaking like a sieve. (our pool is in-ground, but has the same type of plastic liner as an above ground pool)
The poor thing must have been looking for water, as it is the first time we had seen any roo (dead or alive) in this area since moving here.
Despite my wifes valiant attempts at patching up the holes, yesterday it was still leaking, and the water level was about 30 cm below the scooper box.
we decided we had to empty 40,000 litres, and replace the liner, only to get up this morning to be greeted with a (leaking) but overflowing swimming pool.
