Default Negotiating price when buying a new car?

How much can you bargain when buying a new car? 5-10-20%? We're probably going for an Accord - Euro.

Thanks

try anything but be prepared to walk

i have been looking at 1 - 2 year old cars over the last few weeks and when it comes to negotiations none of them seem to be bothered

i have walked out of about 6 garages so far and none of them have been too fussed at all

if you are looking at new have you considered one of those car buying agents , i have seen them mentioned on here quite often and they may be worth a look into

Thanks Steve/Kelly. Gosh, haven't heard of buying agents for cars before. Will check it out.

Cheers

Best thing to do is to go to 2 dealerships and keep getting the other to better the deal offered by the other one.

Inclined to agree. Also, try going to a dealer outside your immediate area. They may be inclined to offer a bit better deal as you may be seen as a client they would not normally expect to get. I'm on the central coast but got a much better deal in Maitland on a VW.
