I use a logitech for notebooks as I have a laptop I haven't had any major problems with it and have used it twice daily for 2 years:thumbsup:

Only software you will need is Skype or MSN, just download one of them and install on your PC and your mums. Sign up for a username for you and your mum, then agree a time to chat on a regular basis, she logs on and when you log on she will see that you have, then click the have a webchat button and away you go. I think you will need broadband for it to work good.

Good luck

When using a web-cam over the Internet, just remember that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. In this case, the weakest link will be the UPLOAD speeds (not to be confused with the DOWNLOAD speed that your ISP tells you is how fast your Internet connection is).

Upload speeds are usually much slower than the download speeds. Just remember that you can only download a video stream as fast as the other side can upload it, regardless of how fast your download speed it - and visa versa. If one of the 2 people video-conferencing has a very slow upload speed, the connection will be poor.
