need some advice please
Went to Dads yesterday and he want me to find a really good webcam so when we go he can still see and speak to his grandchildren.

I use a logitech for notebooks as I have a laptop I haven't had any major problems with it and have used it twice daily for 2 years:thumbsup:

I want to get this set up for my mum to talk to us when we move out but don't know what software we should be using. Can anyone help on s/w & h/w specs to use?

When using a web-cam over the Internet, just remember that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. In this case, the weakest link will be the UPLOAD speeds (not to be confused with the DOWNLOAD speed that your ISP tells you is how fast your Internet connection is).
Upload speeds are usually much slower than the download speeds. Just remember that you can only download a video stream as fast as the other side can upload it, regardless of how fast your download speed it - and visa versa. If one of the 2 people video-conferencing has a very slow upload speed, the connection will be poor. - CDM |
