Make sure you don't get that second Dyson that scored only 50/100 for pet hair removal on the choice chart above

Miele with out a doubt....had a dyson and it was good but the Miele we now have is far superior. They also make a Cats and Dogs version.

Bought a top of the range Bosch 3 years ago and have just bought a new dyson and wish I had bought the Dyson 3 years ago. The Bosch with hindsight was crap. Dyson all the way. I didn't buy an upright this time though as for my house where I have a mixture of 4 floor types, the cylinder was more practical.

we've got this one, I'm sure it was much cheaper than rrp though:
http://www.dyson.com.au/store/produc...C23-TURBINE-AU
Works well, the turbine head is pretty cool to look at but the best feature is the size... it is nice and small, and fits on a shelf in the utility room cupboard. Very easy to maneuver around.

I have had a number but none have come close to my Dyson DC23. It has worked perfectly and flawlessly for three years and still going strong. I also have a DC30 hand held which is so good that I use it every day then get disappointed when the juice runs out.

Yeah, never looked back since I got a Dyson. Certainly lives up to the hype. We have a model that has a motorised head which brushes the carpet to get in deep. Cost a bomb, but really worthwhile. We bought it on New Year's day a few years back. We cleaned up after the New Year's Eve party (including vacuuming with the old unit), then went out to get the Dyson (I have really bad dust allergies and my specialist recommended we get one), when we got back we wanted to test it (remember we had just vacuumed using the older Hoover) and on a stretch of carpet probably 3m by 4m we picked up an entire shoe box load of dust and hair!

Had Miele and Dyson. Dyson lost suction. Miele is awesome. German made vs British
