Need a new vacum , any recommendations

Hi

I need a new vacum cleaner. I've got three cats and one sheds.

The one I have is a cheaop job and not cutting it at all.

I need a recomendation for a good vacum , I'm thinking Dyson but dont know what model?

Dyson absolutely. Personally I like the upright ball jobbie. I have a dog so need to vacuum around the tiles and carpet. Does the job admirably and really easy to manoeuvre.

I'm amazed people actually still buy other brands.

How about an expensive Dyson for the cats and a bog standard cheapo one from Aldis or KMart for the shed.

Choice survey from April 2010 of vacuums over $600 (that are usually best at picking up pet hair according to choice).

I bought the top-of-the-range Miele when we arrived but wouldn't get one again.

It cleans very well and is very sturdily built. But the list of unergonomic design flaws goes on and on as far as I'm concerned.

We have a power head on the Miele and its good.

I also have a hoover upright which I have had for yonks, very very noisy, if I want people to leave the house just start up the hoover. Its also excellent cleaner, made in the USA this one.

Right well apart from the entrance of the Miele there it looks like a landslide for the Dyson really.

I should have mentioned there will be a dog at some stage so forward planning is best.

In six weeks I will be moving so chances are its best to buy it along with a range of other goods. as I am working of the presumption the more goods I buy in the likes of the good guys the more dicount I can bargain for?

Of am I "Dreamin"

Dyson every time.

Our original one went thru 7 years of house renovations inc EVERY wall stripped of old plaster and the small bits and dust hoovered up with the Dyson, serious machine!!

Just don't go calling it a 'hoover' here as that's brand name....

'Breville' ... cough .. splutter! ... ;)
