Need a new passport.
I gotta get a new British PP and i was thinking about getting it done here in Bangkok. But have decided to wait till Oz. How long does it take and do they transfer my residence to my new PP? Also how much and how easy is it to do?

Hi Jock,
You have to go onto the British High Commission website in Australia and download a passport form. All the usual thing, need to get photos and application certified etc. It takes about 4 weeks and costs $185+$15 courier fee (well that's what I paid just to change to married name). You have to then take both the passports to an immigration office and they will put a new visa label in the new one for free, did mine last week. Hope this helps.
