Need a house sitter or have a self contained granny flat to rent out in QLD?

Hello all,

Just had my 70 year old mother over here for the last 6 months and she has fallen in love with this place! We had a wonderful time - so much so that she is coming back again in October for (hopefully) another 6 months.

Thankfully we found a house for her to house-sit in while she was here (probably saved the stress levels from rising too high in our home ;) ), and we're looking for the same again.

So if anyone has a need for an experienced house sitter (with reference from the last one if required) or a self contained granny flat/unit/apartment somewhere in or close to the Redlands, QLD then we'd be really grateful to here from you!

She arrives mid-October 2009 and leaves around May 2010 - but happy to sit for short periods in between!

Please PM us! Thanks
Dave & May

Thanks both - yeah my wife has tried the house sitter sites in the past but there are usually 100 sitters for every house.

One of the reasons I love this site is that it feels like a little virtual 'community'. Over time you get to know (and usually trust a bit more) everyone here. When we come to need a house sitter (when we head off to the UK for a year or so) we'll probably advertise here first rather than on one of the 'sitter' sites. Maybe I'm misguided but that's the way I look at it.

Thanks again though -we'll keep looking. Wish the Australian government made it easier (i.e. cheaper!) for parents to migrate - but I guess I understand the economics behind it too.

Cheers
Dave

Hi all

Just thought I'd ask one more time if there is anyone who might have or know of a self contained granny flat or apartment in the Redlands, QLD - or need a well trained house sitter (with references) anytime from November this year to May 2010.

Thanks!
Dave

Have you tried any of the over 50s resorts? The rents there are sometimes very cheap
