Need advice before I commit
Hi there, I have been offered a new job ‘Down Under’, I’m either going to be based in Queensland or Brisbane.
I would make my way over first and then bring the family; I have a wife, daughter who is 5yrs and a new born (due in November).
The company will give me a visa and supply me a place to stay for one month.
I’ve been offered a large salary which I am hoping will cover all my expenses.
Can I get some advice on the following:
Schooling, nursery care, medical insurance – cost and is it good ?
Is there any hidden costs ? What should I take out with me (anything special ill need?)
Any do’s and don’ts out there ???
Monthly bills ?? what is the cost of running a house ??
Cars, petrol – I’m trying to work out if what they have offered me is the right amount.
Any other information a new person coming to work out there would need / should know !!
Like setting up a bank account ? getting a driving license ?car insurance ? Snakes or spiders !!

Brisbane is in Queensland. Some things will depend on what visa you're coming out on, others will depend on where you settle. Housing costs depend on what kind of property you'd be looking at etc etc etc.
