We're going to stay at a caravan park for a week (that's what we did last time we went) then you have time to look in the paper. I think (I'm trying to remember) that the paper puts loads of accommodation in on a wednesday. Perhaps someone local to Adelaide will confirm or correct?

Try Adelaide Shores, Semaphor Carvan Park or LEVI park.
Otherwise the hotel called the MERCURE On North Terrace has some really good room rates. The rooms which are the cheapest are at the back and are very small but also very comfortable. It'll take the pressure off when you get there and give some time to scout out where you want to be. Beach, Hills, Port, etc. Hope that helps
