Nearest and cheap(ish) overseas holiday from Perth
Hi guys, please share your thoughts on where to go for a cheap(ish) overseas holiday from Perth? (apart from rotto 
), Singapore is expensive IMO. I am single male pushing 30. Please respond if you are living or have lived in Perth.

Malaysia.

There are some Indonesian Islands near Singapore that are a short ferry ride away. Tioman Island is also only a 30min flight from Singapore on Berjaya Air.

Jakarta has the best nightlife in Asia. Jetstar cheap flights as well!

????? you can hardly even drink anywhere there apart from hotels and a few cr@p expat bars.... it's a muslim country with strict views or was there something i was never told about the place? Bali is the place to go in Indo as it's Hindi
Kl & Penang are great places too, more fun than Singapore and with an open culture towards drinking etc

The west coast of Malaysia has a drinking culture but parts of the east coast (and islands) are more muslim and there are issues with alcohol.

My Daughter is going to Bali in a few weeks. $35 each way from Perth. I cant catch a taxi to the airport that cheap.

Wow, lots of great responses, thank you all for sharing your thoughts. I am defo thinking bali if I can get those cheap tickets. Just have to wait for those sales thingies !

My choice would be Lombok but, as a single young bloke - unless all you're into is scuba or hiking (or taking magic mushrooms...) I would agree with Bali.
