Nambour, Queensland???
Hi there. we are still in the process of looking at possible ares to move to, WHEN we get the visa, and are presently looking at perth and Brisbane area.
We have been looking at a place called Nambour, Queensland, but havent been very lucky in finding much information.
Does anyone know Nambour? Any information would be appreciated. We will have a child at high school and one starting sixth form/college.
OH a bricklayer, work prospects?
There is a hospital hence the reason for looking there( I am a nurse)
Any info would be great. Thanks J and J

A bit of an in joke from an ex local to the Coast. You may be better settling in another part of the Sunshine Coast and commuting in to Nambour.
It Gets hot in the Summer and quite chilly in the winter evenings its also a 15-20 min drive to the beach.
Have you thought of Mooloolaba or Buderim?

It's also miles away fro Brisbane so if your jobs rely on being close to the city this would be an impossible commute.

Things must have changed up there since that last thread, nambs now listed as a 'hot suburb' property wise, main street still a shocker tho :scared:

Gutted to here that the sugar cain train is no longer running in Nambour. I have some happy memories of spending a summer there in 1991.
Just read the other thread and it brought the memories flooding back.
As mentioned Mapleton is a great little spot up in the hills above Nambour and the Sunshine Coast.
Fantastic views of the Coast and across to the Glasshouse Mountains.
Happy days
