Yes - they drive on the same side of the road and everyone is crap at roundabouts so your Missus will fit right in.

Lol, yes, we drive on the left-hand side of the road and the cars here are right-hand drive.

By law we have to 'keep left unless overtaking', however most Aussies drive in the middle of the road, as close to the centre line as they can get! Oh, and if the roundabouts are small enough, they just drive over the top of them!!

they sure do,you see a few people on here that think australians are in general bad drivers but we came back a month ago from our visa trip and we found that the roads are a lot better sign posted and it just seemed to be a lot easier on the roads over there,we did a lot of miles and in our opinion the aussies way of driving is lot more laid back but i think it depends on where your use to driving over here,because we are from manchester we are use to heavy traffic but if your from the country you might not think the same.......don't worry you will be fine

A lot of Brits think that the UK is only country that drives on the left. I have asked people in the past to name 3 countries in Europe that drive on the left and most people can't get past UK and Ireland.

Another thing your wife may find interesting: Most cars here are automatics. At first this is difficult to adjust to because you keep 'going for the gears'. But it is so bloody easy once you get the hang of it. It's like driving a dodgem car (without the bumps hopefully). I love it! My husband hates it and complains that the car doesn't change the gear a quickly as he could. Maybe its a girl thing, but I much prefer driving here. I also spent time as a community midwife - any midwives out there will know what notoriously crap drivers they are.

It's not only former British colonies that drive on the left (Although admittedly all the ones in Europe that drive on the left are former colonies.) Sweden used to drive on the left until 1961.
